Many attractions are within walking distance from the house.

Rosemarkie beach is just a few minutes away, a beautiful sheltered spot with sandy beach and rockpools ideal for children. A beach cafe and tennis courts are alongside the beach and for the more adventurous, a coastal path takes you all the way to the village of Cromarty. Why not walk there for lunch and get the bus back?

Fairy Glen is a beautiful wooded walk with a variety of wildlife, just a few minutes from the house. The path runs alongside a stream leading to two waterfalls. In the summer months the RSPB often have evening guided walks to search for Pipistrelle bats and even issue bat detectors! Information can be found on the notice board in the car park, at the start of the walk.

Walking west along the seafront brings you to Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club. Why not head out to the greens after breakfast on our terrace?

Walking alongside the golf course to the lighthouse at Chanonry Point brings you to reputedly the best place in the UK to see dolphins.

Just yards from the house the Groam House Museum  provides free entry to various Celtic and Pictish collections from the area.

Other local attractions include Learnie Red Rock cycle tracks. Just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute cycle, these graded forest trails were developed recently and offer some fantastic mountain-biking.

If you don't have you own bikes, why not hire them and have them delivered to the house? We recommend Inverness-based company Ticket-To- Ride  who will be glad to help.
